Web Design Artist

Step into the creative world of web design as a Web Design Artist, where imagination meets technology! In this competition, participants will explore how websites are built and styled using HTML and CSS—the core languages of the web. Whether you’re taking your first steps into web design or already experimenting with layouts and colors, this challenge empowers you to transform ideas into visually engaging, responsive web pages. Participants will learn how to structure content using HTML and enhance it with CSS to create attractive, user-friendly designs that work across different screen sizes.

This competition is not just about coding—it’s about creativity, problem-solving, and design thinking. Participants are encouraged to experiment, innovate, and express their artistic vision while following real-world web standards.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Junior Category: Participants aged 6–12 years
  • Senior Category: Participants aged 12–16 years
  • Participants may be nominated by: RoboClubs, Schools, or Individual registrations

Team Structure

  • Each team may have a maximum of 3 participants
  • Each team must be guided by one Coach
  • A participant cannot be part of more than one team
  • Teams cannot share members with other teams
  • The competition consists of three progressive rounds, each increasing in complexity and creativity requirements.
  • Duration of each round: 1 hour.
  • Challenge Types: In each round, teams will be assigned one of the following:
    – Drawing or recreating a specific shape or visual element using HTML & CSS OR
    – Building a specific section of a web page (e.g., header, card layout, landing section).
  • Technical Requirements: Only HTML and CSS are allowed. No JavaScript or external libraries. The final output must be responsive and adapt to different screen sizes. Clean, readable, and well-structured code is expected.
  • Teams must submit their work within the allocated time for each round.
  • Internet access is strictly prohibited during the competition rounds.
  • ⏱️ A 15-minute briefing session will be held before each round to explain the challenge and answer participant questions.
  • 🚫 Unauthorized collaboration with anyone outside the team is not allowed and may result in disqualification.
  • 🧑‍⚖️ Judges will manually review the code after each round.
  • 🗣️ Teams must present and explain their solution to the judges once the round ends.

Judging Criteria

  • Design Accuracy – How closely the output matches the challenge
  • Creativity & Visual Appeal – Effective use of colors, spacing, and layout
  • Code Quality – Clean structure, proper indentation, and best practices
  • Use of HTML Semantics – Correct and meaningful use of tags
  • CSS Implementation – Proper styling, layout techniques, and responsiveness
  • Responsiveness – Adaptability across different screen sizes
  • Presentation & Explanation – Team’s ability to clearly explain their design and code
